Description: evergreen shrub; upright, sprawling growth with angular silver leaves. Edible leaves are high in nutrients, minerals, proteins and electrolytes. Greyish flowers in summer. Used as a feed plant for livestock and to stabilize sand dunes in arid regions and as a medicine by some Bedouin tribes.

Uses: culinary- steamed or fresh in salads, soups, quiches, etc., medicine, ornamental

Drought: adapted to 6 months of summer drought

Care: tip-pruning leaves during the growing season and promptly removing spent flower spikes will result in a more dense, shapely plant
