Description: perennial; a dense, vigorous groundcover for shady areas. Famously used in the making of Maiwein (May Wine) and also popular in potpourri and in sachets as an insect repellent. Leaves, roots, and stems can be used to make natural dyes. Dried leaves smell slightly of vanilla. Abundant, tiny white blossoms in spring.
