Gazania 'Tikal'


Description: perennial (requires protection from frost); mesmerizing flowers with orange petals with central red stripes open and close with the sun. Blooms almost continuously from late spring into late autumn (and almost year round in a greenhouse). Bred for long-lasting cut flowers. Hardy to 25 F in average soil and to 20 F and lower in lean, gritty soil that stays dry in winter.

Gazania 'Totonaca'


Description: perennial (requires protection from frost); a selection with dark red-orange petals that blur into bright yellow margins. Flowers open and close with the sun and bloom almost continuously from late spring into late autumn (and almost year round in a greenhouse). Bred for long-lasting cut flowers. Hardy to 25 F in average soil and to 20 F and lower in lean, gritty soil that stays dry in winter.

Gazania × rigens [red form]

Gazania rigens 'Variegata'


Description: perennial (requires protection from frost); a variegated form of G. rigens. Linear, green foliage with cream-white margins. Yellow-orange flowers with a distinct black ring in the center that open and close with the sun and bloom almost continously throughout the summer and into autumn. Hardy to 25 F in average soil and to 20 F and lower in lean, gritty soil that stays dry in winter.

Gazania rigens var. leucolaena


Description: perennial (requires protection from frost); a variation of G. rigens found only in the Cape Provinces of South Africa. Downy, silver leaves and small, golden yellow flowers that bloom almost continuously from late spring into late autumn. Hardy to 25 F in average soil and to 20 F and lower in lean, gritty soil that stays dry in winter.
