Description: evergreen shrub; one of the hardier members of the genus typically found at high elevation in SE Australia. Vigorous, rounded growth and elliptical, gray-green leaves with orange-red flower clusters in winter and early spring. Long-blooming and popular with hummingbirds.


Height: to 6 ft. Spread: to 8 ft.


Position: full sun and lean, well-draining soil


Uses: ornamental, to attract pollinators


Winter Hardiness: to 10 F and below


Distribution: SE Australia (New South Wales, Victoria)
