Description: evergreen shrub/tree; relatively fast-growing with attractive cinnamon-red bark and waxy, aromatic leaves Fragrant white star flowers in summer ripen into edible purple berries. Used in honey production in Chile and traditionally as food and medicine by the Mapuche people.


Height: to 20+ ft. Spread: to 15 ft.


Position: full sun and lean, well-draining soil


Uses: ornamental, medicine, culinary - fresh, jams, sauces, etc.
