Description: evergreen shrub; raised by J. May of the U.K. from seed he collected in Tasmania. Vigorous, upright growth and silver-green needle-like foliage that resembles rosemary (hence the name). Small red buds form in early summer and persist for months before opening to tiny white flowers. Simply stunning in dried flower arrangements.
Height: to 6 ft. Spread: to 4 ft.
Position: full sun and well-draining soil
Uses: ornamental
Winter Hardiness: to 10 F and below
Drought: adapted to 3+ months of summer drought
Care: no special care needed, can be pruned/shaped in late spring or early summer
Notes: the cultivars 'Silver Jubilee' and 'Silver Sussex' were both raised by J. May of the U.K. from seed that he collected in Tasmania.
