Santolina 'Lemon Queen'

Description: evergreen shrub; rounded growth with strongly aromatic, gray-green foliage and pale yellow button flowers in summer. Very similar to S. 'Edward Bowles'. Thrives in dry, rocky areas with nutrient-poor soil.
Height: to 2 ft. Spread: to 3 ft.
Position: full sun and well-draining soil
Uses: sachets to repel fleas/insects, potpourri, dried bouquets, ornamental
Winter Hardiness: to 0 F and below
Drought: Adapted to 4 months of summer drought
Care: no special care needed, can be pruned lightly after flowering and hard in spring to maintain a dense, compact shape
Notes: this cultivar is listed under at least 5 different species throughout the horticultural trade. It seems to be most accurately S. neapolitana but being that Santolina taxonomy is still being debated we'll just hold our breath.
