Santolina 'Primrose Gem'

Description: perennial; compact, rounded growth with aromatic, feathery green foliage and pale yellow button flowers in summer. Stunning when interplanted with lavenders. Thrives in dry, rocky areas with nutrient-poor soil.

Position: full sun and lean, well-draining soil
Uses: sachets to repel fleas/insects, potpourri, dried bouquets, ornamental
Winter Hardiness: to 0 F and below
Drought: Adapted to 4 months of summer drought
Care: no special care needed, can be pruned lightly after flowering and hard in spring to maintain a dense, compact shape
Notes: we originally sold a very similar plant as S. ericoides under the name compact green santolina but ultimately decided it's either the same clone as 'Primrose Gem' or so similar that it is indistinguishable and stopped propagating it.
