Description: perennial; an evergreen subshrub with very aromatic narrow, green foliage and white flower spikes in summer. Cultivated for at least 2000 years and popular amongst ancient Greeks and Romans for culinary and medicinal use. An essential ingredient in the German dish, Grünes Bohnengemüse. Reputed to benefit digestion.
