Description: perennial; an evergreen subshrub with aromatic leaves and pink flower spikes in summer. Locally known as "wild thyme" in much of its native range and essential ingredient in the Middle Eastern spice blend, za'atar. Requires gritty, fast-draining soil to thrive.
